Smith-Holden Music and Education first opened its doors in 1962. George Holden and two partners began the corporation.
George Holden now owns and manages the store with his son, Mark Holden.
Our store is located at 222 W. Kirkwood Avenue, in downtown Bloomington. We are two blocks west of the Courthouse, and
our cross-street is Morton. We have free customer parking along Morton as well as street parking along Kirkwood.
The outside west wall of our building is painted with a section of "Three Epitaphs," a brass quartet composed by
Dr. Thomas Beversdorf. The mural was created in 1976. You can see a photo of this beautiful musical artwork in the upper
left-hand corner of our website.
